A Doula is a trained professional who provides physical, educational, and emotional support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. The goal is to achieve the healthiest and most satisfying birthing experience possible.

Physical support – helps with walking, position changes, massages, and breastfeeding support.
Educational support – provide resources for prenatal and postpartum care along with answering questions about labor and birth.
Emotional support – offers relaxation techniques and encouragement.

Although not listed above there is also the important factor of communication. Communication to help foster a positive relationship with doctors, midwives, and nurses to help women advocate for themselves.

Many may think a Doula only provides a few hours of support but oh no there is so much more.
